The Experience and Navigation of Career Anxiety in Undergraduates and Postgraduates in Singapore

Career anxiety is often experienced by students even before they step into the workplace. characterised by feelings of self-doubt and an internalised fear of being exposed as incompetent or as a 'fraud' at work. This includes , and is not limited to, undermining one's own achievements and/or a persistent fear of failure.

This study aims to:

  • Shed light on the qualitative experience of career anxiety in undergraduates and postgraduates.

  • Examine the psychosocial factors that might contribute to it.

  • Contribute to research that would help educators and career guidance counsellors to guide students towards their future lives effectively

This study is the second in a series that seeks to examine attitudes and perspectives towards careers and workplace culture in Singapore. It is hoped that the series will prompt discussions about the impact of workplace culture on life and on individuals in Singapore.
